Pantone Sound

Pantone Sound is an experimental design project that translates sound frequencies into visual colour representations. By mapping timbre, tone, and frequency to the Pantone colour system, the project explores how sensory information can be communicated more intuitively through cross-modal design.
Using a colour sensor and sound synthesis, the system creates a tangible interface for exploring and understanding sound. The process combined user research, material experimentation, and iterative prototyping to ensure technical feasibility and user clarity.
Pantone Sound reimagines how we perceive sound—transforming it into an accessible and engaging visual experience.
